Baylee Arizona State University Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

Baylee’s senior portrait session was golden magic! We spent the cool afternoon exploring the best spots on ASU’s Tempe campus and wrapped up with some golden-hour magic above Haden Library. Baylee is one of those people who lights up a room—and a camera frame—with her sweet, confident energy. She brought three outfits to show off all the different sides of her personality, and each one was a total Sun Devil vibe! Plus, we lucked out with the timing: If you’re planning a session at ASU, let me tell you—late fall is the best time. Crowds are low, the weather is perfect, and the whole campus just glows.

We kicked things off at Old Main and the iconic giant grad numbers. The building has this incredible mix of history and charm that makes it one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona. It’s especially stunning in the fall when the light catches the brick and makes the whole area feel warm and inviting. Baylee chose a classic black dress and her cap and gown for her first outfit—simple and elegant. She stood on the iconic Normal School steps, looking like a queen ready to take on the world! Fun fact: these steps are a hot spot for ASU grads, especially in spring. By April or May, it’s packed with seniors waiting their turn for photos, so planning a fall session means avoiding those long waits. Trust me, it’s worth it.

From there, we headed to the fountain near Old Main. The breezy fall weather gave us the perfect conditions- but dang that water was still super cold! It’s an ASU tradition to get in the fountain, sometimes with a bottle of champagne :) Baylee is a brave young woman hoping in and making the freezing water seem fun and easy!!

Baylee twirled, laughed, and completely owned the moment. Her dress flowed just right in the breeze, and her smile was radiant. Senior sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. Capturing someone’s joy and excitement as they celebrate such a big milestone is just the best.

Next up, we made our way to Palm Walk. If you’ve ever been on ASU’s campus, you know how iconic this spot is. The towering palms create the most amazing natural frame, making it one of the top spots for Arizona senior pictures. Baylee’s second outfit—a trendy black and white dress- was perfect for this part of the session. The way she walked confidently down Palm Walk was a whole mood. It was like she owned the place (which, honestly, she totally did during our session!).

The great thing about Palm Walk is how versatile it is. Whether you’re going for something casual or formal, the endless line of palms adds a touch of elegance to every photo. Plus, the fall light hitting the trees creates a beautiful play of shadows and sunlight. It’s one of those spots that never fails to deliver the best senior pictures.

As the sun dipped low, Baylee had switched into her third outfit: a classic ASU sweatshirt. The wind picked up just enough to give her dress movement, and the setting sun turned everything to gold. She looked incredible! We found a spot near one of the water features, and the reflection in the water added this dreamy quality to the shots. Moments like this are why I say Arizona has some of the best places for senior photos. The combination of natural beauty and great light is unbeatable.

Throughout the session, Baylee’s personality shone. She’s sweet, fun, and so full of life. Whether she was striking a pose or laughing between shots, she made every moment memorable. Senior portraits aren’t just about pretty backdrops and great outfits (though those are important!). They’re about capturing who you are at this milestone moment. Her confidence and excitement for graduation were so clear in every shot. You could see how much she’s ready for this next chapter. Baylee’s session was such a great reminder of that. Each photo tells a piece of her story—her hard work, her excitement for what’s next, and the joy she carries with her every day.

For those of you planning your own ASU senior pictures, here are a couple of tips based on Baylee’s session. If you’re thinking of ASU’s Tempe campus, plan ahead! Fall is a great time because the crowds are smaller and the weather is much more forgiving. By the time spring rolls around, Old Main and Palm Walk get pretty packed with grads waiting for their turn at these iconic spots. If you want those classic shots without the stress, fall is the way to go. Another tip? Bring multiple outfits! Baylee’s three looks added so much variety to her photos, and each outfit fit perfectly with its location. It’s a great way to show off different sides of your personality and keep things fun and fresh.
